Benefit Erase Paste // Review & Swatches

Have you ever purchased something, tried it, not liked it, dug it out a year later and subsequently loved it? Well, that’s exactly how I feel about Benefit’s Erase Paste.

The late nights, busy weeks and long weekends away, have caught up with me in the last month or so and this creamy concealer has become a staple in my daily makeup routine. The concealer comes in a small pot with a little spatula (which I find is pointless). The packaging is super cute and girly and due to it’s size is perfect for traveling. The concealer comes with a step by step guide and is available in three shades, all of which have peach undertones. I have the shade ‘medium’ which is perfect, but initially was too orange. Once the winter months come around, I will have to invest in the lighter shade. The peach undertone and the thick, creamy texture makes this product perfect for covering dark circles (which I certainly have) and redness (check!). I personally dont use this to cover blemishes due to the products illuminating properties.

With a price tag of £20.50 I must say, it has to be one of the most expensive concealers I own and initially I wasn’t all that impressed. However, once you know how to use the product properly (without the spatula may I add) it works like a dream! Before or after I apply my foundation, I like to use my ring finger and apply a tinee tiny amount to the inner corner of my eyes and then blend. Keep in mind that a little goes a long way and the biggest mistake you can make is using too much, as it will crease like crazy, look cakey and slide all over the place and cause your eye makeup to smudge! So use with caution and apply lightly. The product counteracts any darkness really well and really helps to brighten up my under eye area and it doesn't dry out my skin, as it has a dewy finish. It blends really well and lasts a good 5-8 hours. I personally dont set this concealer with powder unless I use a lot of product, as it can look a little greasy. Furthermore the product feels really light under the eyes. I sometimes use it as quick coverage for my face (around my nose, under my eyes, any redness etc) when I'm feeling a little lazy and it works really well.

The price is a little steep, however this product will last a long time and I’m yet to find anything at a lower price that works just as well! This little pot has been a life saver. Thank you Benefit for helping erase my beautiful dark bags under my eyes. If you too have dark circles, or redness I recommend you give this product a try, it might just be what your after.

Have you tried this concealer?
