Quick Summer Body Beauty Fixes

The temperature has been rising over the last couple of weeks, as has my fear of showing some skin. I can no longer wear jeans to cover up my pasty *cough* hairy legs and hide my feet in my favourite pair of Forever 21 boots. We’ve all been there, dashing to the shops to buy a new maxi dress and a razor to replace the blunt blades collecting dust in our cupboards. But when a heatwave arrives announced we can be hard pushed to fix our body woes fast. So today I’ve rounded up a few summer beauty must-haves to help fix them fast.

Sol De Janerio Brazilian Bum Bum Cream £18 - £44
I’m a slacker when it comes to moisturising my bod on the regular, so slathering on a sticky layer of moisturiser on a 28 degree day is not the one. But once again I succumbed to the hype and purchased Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. Packaged in a bright tangerine and white tub the cream recommend for your derrière can be used all over. It’s formulated with caffine-rich Guarana to stimulate circulation, lift and tighten and Capuacu Butter, Acai, and Coconut Oil deeply nourish and soften the skin. Sounds good right? Well it smells bloody good too and the scent lasts all day. So much so it had me thrusting my arm under my mums nose all day “Mum how good does this smell?”. Not to mention is soaks in super-fast, leaving my skin softer and healthier looking with its subtle shimmer. And yes, my butt does kinda look firmer. Wishful thinking maybe, but it’s doing something! The one thing that might sway you is the price tag, but if it encourages me to moisturise you can’t put a price on that!

Skinny Tan Express Mousse 1 Hour Tan £27.99*
Skinny Tan Express Mousse 1 Hour Tan is one of the newest self-tanners on the scene and another product in this line-up that smells delicious. I applied the mousse for the first time last week to give my current sun kissed skin a boost. It has a good guide colour, but it didn’t blend as seamlessly as other tanners I’ve tried, so I recommend prepping your skin first with a light moisturiser. After a couple of hours I showered and the end result was faultless with no streaks in sight. And for the first time EVER I didn’t smell like a walking bottle of fake tan the following day and I even had a colleague ask “have you been on holiday”. In short there’s a whole lotta fake tans on the market, but this is a product you need to know about.

Scholl Pedi Velvet Smooth Electronic Pedicure Foot File £39.99*
What’s happening under our socks isn’t always a pretty sight. So when I swapped my boots for sandals and sat crossed-legged on the tube baring my cracked skin and chipped toe nails for all to see, I swiftly excited the tube ran to Boots and purchased a roller refill for my Scholl Pedi Velvet Smooth Electronic Pedicure Foot File. This device is a life saviour and always makes a triumphant return during the summer months. It blasts away hard skin in minutes softening things up quickly. The battery operated device is easy to use, just gently rotate the file over dead skin and poof (literally) see the dead skin disappear.

Gillette Satin Care Violet Swirl of Olay £1.97
Confession time: I’ve shaved my legs more time in the last 3 weeks than I have in the last 3 months. Just like washing my makeup brushes, shaving my legs is hard work. But one product that’s been making this tedious task a little easier is Gillette Satin Care Violet Swirl of Olay. Shaving cream is pretty basic, but this stuff is worth the extra few pounds. It lathers well, smells good, no irritation (cuts are less likely) and the end result is seriously smooth fuzz free pins. So next time you pop out to pick up a razor, I recommend you pop this in your basket too!
